Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is an online serial. It was written by Damon Lindelof, who is a Star Wars fan, and launched in January 2020. It's very short, but it's very interesting.
This story was told in the movie Revenge of the Sith, but with the help of JJ Abrams (the guy who directed the first two movies) it has been made into an even shorter story. So, I was very happy that this was the next step of the saga.
One thing I liked about this serial is the concept of the characters all belonging to one company, The Alliance. There are two major companies, Organa and Skywalker, but also a few minor ones, and everyone is on the same team.
The Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has seen many different authors re-tell it in different ways. This makes it very different from most Star Wars stories.
There is actually only one author in this story online, but that doesn't mean that the other authors aren't worth reading. They just don't have the story that the original author has.
But what really kept me interested in this story is the plot. After all, as you know, Star Wars movies have huge plots, and the Rise of Skywalker is no exception. The movie "reunion" was an interesting twist, and I had a lot of fun with it.
The Rise of Skywalker as a serial had a lot of characters from the movie in it, but they weren't actually in the story. But it was still a very interesting read, and I enjoyed the changes made to it, because I am a huge fan of the Star Wars films, but not of the movies themselves.
In conclusion, I'm glad that the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker had the potential to be adapted into a serial. It is a short but good story.
