Here we have one of the most popular stories in the TV series of the same name. In Barbie and the Diamond Castle, the story involves a new babysitter and her attempts to get to know the child's parents better. She soon discovers that she has fallen in love with Barbie and they embark on a journey together that leads them all the way to a very exciting and unique theme park.
This film is quite different from other films of the same type. It is not a rehash of the past but an alternate version of it. The characters are interesting, even if they aren't as compelling as they could be. Overall, this film is rather hard to explain and might require a film review or movie guide to explain.
Most of the scenes in the actual park revolve around the events that happen while Barbie and the Diamond Castle are going on a trip. As the film progresses, we learn that there is another separate park that also exists and that the Babysitter and Barbie are in the other park. As well, the kids in the original park also meet their grandparents.
This film was directed by Robert Kurtzman and was written by Frank Lantz. It is believed that Frank Lantz has a cameo appearance in the film, which would make it possible that he wrote it as well. The storyline is pretty well written, but it lacks the driving force behind it. The characters in the film are easy to relate to, but they lack a sense of urgency, which is what you would expect from a story based on a children's film.
Overall, the film isn't bad. It is, however, a bit bland, and doesn't seem to work well with modern films or games. This is not a bad film to watch, but to expect anything spectacular out of it would be unreasonable. This film is better than average and will not be a disappointment to those who prefer to watch films and games in different genres.
Many online reviewers seem to consider this film to be excellent, while others fail to see the potential. For those who have watched the film, it is quite good. For those who haven't, they may find that it doesn't exactly live up to the expectations that many people had for it. I do not think that anyone would be disappointed with this film but there really isn't much more to talk about.
I would like to point out that there are a few characters in this film that are included that are only in the games. Therefore, it does serve a secondary purpose and if that is your goal, you will probably enjoy the film more. However, if you are interested in watching the film as it is meant to be watched, then you should keep your expectations realistic.
Overall, this film might be worth a look for those who wish to watch a children's film that is less ambitious than the best games. This film might not be the same as a certain Nintendo game that we all know and love, but it does provide a nice change of pace from most films out there. For those who want a fun and entertaining film, this is a nice place to start.
